  1.                                MRX PROGRAM OPERATION

  3. Running MRX.
  4.  
  5.     Change to the program directory and execute MRX.EXE or execute
  6. MRX.EXE from any directory and pass the path to the program directory as
  7. a parameter:
  8.  
  9.             C:\MRX\MRX.EXE C:\MRX
  10.             a    b     c      d
  11.  
  12.     Where         a:    Drive Letter.
  13.             b:    Directory Path.
  14.             c:    Executable.
  15.             d:    Path to Program Directory.

  17.     Once the program is running you will be greeted by a LOGON box
  18. which prompts for your user identity. Your name is required so that results
  19. and preferences can be maintained.

  22. Navigating the Screen.
  23.  
  24.         The Manager can be operated through the keyboard or via a mouse.
  25. The Menu Bar gives primary access to the functions of MRX Manager. Press F10
  26. to activate the Menu Bar or select the required command using a mouse. Hot
  27. Keys are provided to speed operation, the following are supported:

  32.     F4         Morse Keyboard Lesson.
  33.     F5         Zoom Window.
  34.         ALT+F5          Morse Transmit Practice.

  37.     F7        Voice Morse Lesson.
  38.     F9        Morse Receive Lesson.
  39.     F10         Menu.
  40.         ALT+F10         Morse Transmit Lesson.
  41.     ALT+C        Change Directory.
  42.     ALT+H        Help Menu.
  43.     ALT+M        Morse Menu.
  44.     ALT+N        New file.
  45.     ALT+O        Open file.
  46.     ALT+P        Print File.
  47.     ALT+R        View Results File.
  48.     ALT+S        Save file.
  49.     ALT+V        View Morse File.

  52. Manager Windows
  53.  
  54.     The Morse Keyboard Manager supports multiple windows, which may be
  55. moved, shuffled and re-sized.  Hot keys, Menu selections or a mouse may
  56. be used to open, close or save files. Displayed below are the mouse
  57. commands available for a typical window:

  96. Text Editor.

  98.     The text editor utilises generic text editor commands for ease of
  99. manipulation.  Multiple files may be opened and information may be copied
  100. or moved between open files.  A clipboard is used to handle information
  101. transfers.

  104. Text Editor Commands

  106.     The following is a list of edit commands:

  108.         Hot Key                 Explanation

  110.         SHFT + ARROW            Block text - to move, delete or copy. 
  111.     CTL + INS        Copy block - copies block to clipboard.
  112.     SHFT + INS        Paste block - copies block from the clipboard 
  113.                                 to current cursor position.
  114.     SHFT + DEL        Cut Block - moves block to clipboard.
  115.     CTL + DEL         Delete Block - deletes selected block.
  116.         ALT + BACKSPACE         Undo Change.
  117.     ALT+A             Find Again.
  118.     ALT+E            Exchange (Find & Replace).
  119.     ALT+F            Find. This function will also work within the
  120.                                 HELP / RESULTS viewer.

  123. Volume and Tone Control.
  124.  
  125.     All morse selections allow the modification of Volume and Tone
  126. during sounding. The Menu located on the bottom line of the screen
  127. displays the following options:

  129.        1.      ALT+X to EXIT;
  130.  
  131.        2.      UP/DOWN ARROW  to ADJUST VOLUME;
  132.  
  133.        3.      LEFT/RIGHT ARROW  to  ADJUST TONE.

  135.        These menu keys may be pressed at any time while morse sounding
  136. is in progress.

  139. Exiting Prior to Lesson Completion.
  140.  
  141.        Pressing ALT+X before the completion of interactive lessons will
  142. result in the following actions:
  143.         
  144.        1.      The lesson will terminate.
  145.  
  146.        2.      A termination message will be written to the results file.
  147.  
  148.        3.      The lesson will have to be repeated.
